The Seismic Processing Workshop (SPW) software of Parallel Geoscience Corporation is included on the attached CD-ROM. This enables a student to conduct the same processing illustrated in the Lab Manual. All files used and generated in the Lab Manual are organized into folders corresponding to each exercise. This organization enables one to begin processing at any stage in the flow. Complete SPW documentation is also included on the CD.
The field records come from a near-surface P-wave survey acquired for geotechnical purposes.
The data is characterized by a high signal/noise ratio, usable reflection frequencies exceeding 350 Hz, short records, and low fold. It contains multiples, statics variation, and diffractions making it an excellent analog for larger scale surveys. Processing steps take less than 2 minutes on a 200 MHz PC, which provides nearly immediate interactivity.
